Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Achieves Over $250 Million in Global Ticket Sales

Swift self-financed the $15 million project, which has been shown in theaters for seven weekends, from Thursday to Sunday.

The concert film “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” has reached a new global box office high, with AMC Theatres announcing its $250 million worldwide ticket sales. This success places it among the top 20 films of 2023 and marks it as the most successful concert film ever. The film has earned $178.2 million in North America and $71.8 million internationally, ranking it 19th globally, just behind “The Nun II” and “The Flash.”

Swift self-financed the $15 million project, which has been shown in theaters for seven weekends, from Thursday to Sunday. This strategy has paid off, especially as the film industry faces content shortages due to strikes by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA. Swift’s decision to partner directly with AMC rather than a traditional studio has been a significant boost for cinema owners.

As “Eras Tour” prepares for another theater run, AMC is also set to release Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” concert film. Anticipated to open between $20 million to $25 million in North America, “Renaissance” will debut in thousands of theaters, contrasting with the $92.8 million opening of “Eras Tour.”
